Leeds SWP Public Meeting: What is the socialist alternative to the crisis? Thurs 8 Nov, 7.30pm

Not a day passes without news of shattering economic crisis, demands of our rulers for the sacrifice by the majority, brutal wars and crackdowns on dissent.
Meanwhile the rich and the powerful pile up still more wealth and influence. And the same pattern recurrs again and again.

Can we do better?

Can’t we do better than this?
We think a socialist world, where people come before profit, could offer a future without deep inequality, poverty, racism, oppression and endless wars.
It would be a society of genuine democracy, not the fake versions on offer now.
Capitalism drives us toward competition and division. Socialism is about using the energy and initiative of the immense majority in the interest of the immense majority.

Using our power

We will only get such a society by using the power workers have to change the world. In the resistance across the globe we can glimpse the force to bring about a better future.
Can we have a different society, would it work, and howdo we get there? Come to this meeting to discuss how we can make history together.
